Johnny Allen Hendrix (November 27, 1942 – September 18, 1970), "Jimi" created an iconic style of rock guitar playing that relied on overdriven amplifiers/ high volume and gain. He inspired countless fans of the 1970s, to wear tie-dyed headbands, fringed vests, and blue jeans to imitate his style.
